..Just playing around with shapes and shadow.. I used diverse graphite-pencils, a black aquarelle-pen and a ballpen.

Yeah, it's sad they ruined the effects of the new Thing by producers stepping in and forcing them to put fake as fuck CG over the practical effect. It's a sad thing when the "making off" video looks more realistic than the finished movie. I personally didn't like the prequel at all. It failed at all the most vital things that would need to be for it in order to work. It was just a chaotic slaughter with few interesting characters and fewer interesting kills. There was no element of tension, believable suspicion. It's not a movie that will keep you on edge, unlike the original The Thing.

Loved the making off.. Some people don't get it CGI is shit, because the light effects can never look real, also the movement .. the don't even use real cars anymore... all the alien 2 effects are from cardboard and the atomic explosion is just cotton xD .. btw thing preque was ok to watch for me because of the main actress ;D

The main actress was very unappealing to me. Complete lack of charisma from that actress. It's not like she's a bad actress, but she just doesn't have that female leadership about her, that kind of authority that certain women can pull off. It's sad that there are more male actors than female who are believable in badass hero roles. That's what we get for raising women to be weak in society. Female is the weaker gender, not by default, but when you raise people to be something, a majority of them will go in accordance to the way they were raised. Without these petty bronze age gender roles, imagine how many badass women we'd have. Tom boy would be the norm, not the exception, and there'd be nothing 'boyish' about it. Almost all girls who are interesting people could be called tomboys. And why? Gender roles.
That main chick in the prequel was no Ripley though, that's for sure. And no MacReady neither.

True, she was a helpless littte something in this movie, like I said she is more cute than a badass ;D ..I know what you mean, I love Sigourney Weaver. And most of my Girlfriends were Tomboys because they are more interesting. I also hate this binary Gender System, children shouldn't be pushed in a role

It always amazes me when I see work like yours. Not many people can do it, as it comes out looking like a lot of noise or something, but yours just 'flows'; really nice! ^^

I like fluid and morphing things and try always to get all the lines and shapes in some kind of harmony or relation.. I showed it to a design prof. but she did't liked it because it was too "psychedelic and too sci-fi" for her taste ;-)

That's because she's stupid!!
She clearly doesn't appreciate the intelligence which goes into making something like this; both of the mind and in respect to co-ordination too - clearly!
Then to have it come out looking so 'neatly' done too, is simply amazing!

I'd like to think she did you some sort of favor; like someone else is waiting in the wings for you...to take you on to greener pastures.

Thanks, I hope so ^^I think too she was stupid, the only creative thing she has done, is a cooking book (I think only the design of it) maybe I just look for an other school, it just would be nice to have a creative job later

That's a good point you have there, very important...so perhaps a little 'kiss ass' is in order lol (knowing it won't be forever that is!
You never know who she may know out there; or how it may effect you somehow down the road - either positively or adversely...
Once you're doing what you enjoy, for a living , you can lead the show doing things your own way.
...Just keep the faith in yourself and your own abilities...Remember all the great artists who were never looked at twice until after they were dead. Much is a matter of opinion; and what the 'people' want, too.

Thank you I'll try it :meow:

It seems this is how the world works (the ass-kissing ^^)
I'll try to get a foot into the doorstep by giving them what they want and than I'll spread like mold all over the place.. ;-) somehow it's sad, that no one noticed all the great artists in their livetimes.. they don't even know that they are "immortal"
